The Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU to us hardcore fans) encompasses any officially licensed products, by Lucas. So, before I get to the reviews I thought I should give a quick crash course in the Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU). It is a rather complex story that draws heavily from existing Expanded Universe content. Additionally several comics and e-books were written involving the overall story arc. This was a series of nineteen books written by 12 authors that were published between 19.

In this novel we get to hear about some Jedi activity around the Galaxy. The full Solo clan, Luke, Mara, Lando and the Droids.Īlso from checking my nifty Star Wars timeline, I believe this is the first novel in the New Jedi Order, taking place 25 ABY (after the battle of Yavin). Most of the book was a good read, but I felt the ending was a bit flat. The best thing he has going for him are the protagonists in the story, an Extra-Galactic race of tribal dudes who, instead of high tech evolution, have bred living organisms for their weapons, space travel and pretty much everything else. But also not quite nailing it, aka Timothy Zahn. Certainly not any worse than some of the previous authors. I'd say he did a fairly good job of both creating a new story and sticking to the previous mythology and character developments. My first review! Ok, I'm a big fan of the Star Wars novels and also of R.A Salvatore, so I was especially interested in Vector Prime. But this time, the power of the Force itself may not be enough. Suddenly, Luke Skywalker his wife, Mara Han Solo Leia Organa Solo and Chewbacca-along with the Solo children-are thrust again into battle, to defend the freedom so many have fought and died for. And as the Jedi and the Republic focus on internal struggles, a new threat surfaces from beyond the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim-an enemy bearing weapons and technology unlike anything New Republic scientists have ever seen. Into this volatile atmosphere comes Nom Anor, a charismatic firebrand who heats passions to the boiling point, sowing seeds of dissent for his own dark motives. But unrest has begun to spread and threatens to destroy the Republic's tenuous reign. More than two decades after the heroes of the Rebel Alliance destroyed the Death Star and broke the power of the Emperor, the New Republic has struggled to maintain peace and prosperity among the peoples of the galaxy.
